You're right, the whole concept of an anchor in T20 sounds like an oxymoron.

I wish if we can get rid of averages as a stat in T20I, its one of the most useless stats in all sports.

I like BPWIH concept, if we really want to argue that not all wickets are equal and number 10 & 11 more often than not hopeless and of course you don't want last two wickets on average facing 12 deliveries as scoring rate will drop, you can still make the case for BPWIH using 8 wickets down, and the equation doesn't change that much, goes from 12 BPWIH to 13.33. Argument remains the same, batsmen are still very conservative in T20I
